Privacy terms for the Aspirant Pro Android app and website.

2. Information stored locally on your device

Your core planning data is stored only on your device: study tasks, tomorrow plans, target exams, streak progress, calendar status, focus preferences and points, profile details, language choice, theme, notification preferences, and reminder times. This data does not leave your device unless you use a cloud feature described below.

3. Information collected when you use AI Mock Tests

AI Mock Tests is an optional feature. When you use it, we collect:

• Account details — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account ID to create and secure your Aspirant Pro account. Before you can sign in, the app asks you to tick a box confirming you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions; the sign-in button stays disabled until you tick it, so signing in is a clear, opt-in action.
• Documents you upload — the photos or PDF of your notes you choose to upload. These are used only to generate your question bank and are permanently deleted from our servers immediately after the questions are generated.
• Your study content — the generated question banks, and your exam attempts, answers, scores, and weak-area results, stored in your account so you can retake tests and track progress.
• Questions you report — if you report a generated question as wrong or unclear, we store the question, the reason you picked, and any note you add (up to 500 characters), so we can check it and improve question quality. Please don’t put personal details in the note.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active Pro subscription, so we can unlock Pro features and manage your monthly quota.
• Device identifier — once you are signed in, we store an identifier for the device you signed in from, together with the language you use the app in. We use it for two things: to tell you when work you asked for has finished, such as your mock test being ready; and to notice when your account is used from a device it has not been used from before, which helps us tell a compromised account apart from a genuine one when someone is reported. It is not linked to any advertising identifier and it does not identify your device to anyone else. The notification part of it is provided by Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging and is removed when you sign out, when you delete your account, and automatically once Google tells us the app is no longer installed on that device.
• Your username — if you use Exam Buddies, you choose a username (3–20 characters). It is the only name other people ever see: your real Google name and your email address are never shown to anyone, and are never returned to other users by our app. Buddies can only be found by typing a username exactly, so nobody can browse or scrape a list of users.
• Your birth year (Exam Buddies only) — before you can use Exam Buddies we ask for the year you were born. The year alone, never your full date of birth. We use it for one purpose: to decide which safety rules apply to group chat, and to keep Exam Buddies closed to anyone under 13. Your age is never shown to other members, and no one in a room can find out whether another member is under 18.
• Messages you send in a room — when you use Exam Buddies, the messages and reactions you send in a room are stored on our servers. Section 9 explains exactly how long, and section 12 explains the safety rules that apply.
• Guardian acknowledgement (under-18 users only) — if the birth year you gave on the app's age screen means you are under 18, the sign-in screen asks you to tick a second box confirming that a parent or guardian knows you use Aspirant Pro and agrees to it. The sign-in button stays disabled until you tick it. When you do, we store a record of that acknowledgement against your account: the date and time you ticked the box, and that birth year. We store this only for users the age screen indicates are under 18, and only when the box is ticked. See section 12 for what this record is and is not.

3a. If you ask us to email you about the iOS app

The homepage of this website has a short form you can use to be told when an iPhone version of Aspirant Pro becomes available. It is entirely optional, it is nothing to do with your app account, and you do not need an account to use it.

• What we store — the email address you type in, the page the form was on, and the date and time. Nothing else: no name, no IP-address record kept against your entry, no advertising or analytics identifier, and we set no cookie of our own.
• The bot check — before the form is accepted it runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which is there to stop automated sign-ups from filling the list with addresses whose owners never asked to be on it. To do that, Cloudflare sees your IP address and basic signals about your browser, and may store a short-lived token in your browser for the check itself. It is not used for advertising, for analytics, or to follow you around the web, and it runs only on this website — never inside the app. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• What we use it for — one purpose only: to email you once, when the iPhone version opens up. We do not send marketing or newsletters to this list, and we never sell, rent, or share these addresses.
• How long we keep it — until the iPhone version launches and that one email has been sent, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first. If you have previously unsubscribed or asked us to stop emailing you, the form will not put you back on the list.
• How to be removed — write to [email protected] and we will delete the address. You do not have to give a reason.
• Legal basis — your consent, given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time using the address above.

4. Third-party services we use

We rely on the following services to run the features you use. Each receives only the data it needs:

• Google Sign-In (name, email, account ID) — to sign you in. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Gemini AI (the content of the documents you upload; and, only when you open the AI coaching tip on a result screen, your score and chapter-wise results for that test — never your name, email, or account details) — to generate questions and the coaching tip. We use a paid tier that does not use your content to train Google's models. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing & RevenueCat (purchase and subscription status, and the purchase and renewal event records RevenueCat sends us) — to process and manage your subscription. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France/EU) (your email address) — to send transactional emails such as account-deletion confirmations. See Brevo's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Turnstile (your IP address and basic browser signals, on this website only) — the bot check on the two forms on this website. It runs only on those pages, never inside the app, and it is not used for advertising, analytics, or tracking you across sites. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• Google AdMob (advertising identifier, your IP address from which an approximate location is inferred, ad interactions such as views and taps, and basic app and device diagnostics) — to show, measure, and protect against fraud in ads in the free version only. See Google's advertising policy.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (a notification token for your device) — to deliver notifications about your own activity, such as a mock test finishing. See Firebase's privacy information.
• Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports and basic device diagnostics) — so we find out when the app breaks. See Firebase's privacy information.

5. Advertising

The free version of Aspirant Pro shows ads through Google AdMob. Every ad request the app makes is marked non-personalised, so ads are not chosen using a profile built from your activity; AdMob may still use your device's advertising identifier for essential purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention, and measurement. You can reset or limit this identifier in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. An active Pro subscription removes all ads, and no advertising identifier is used for Pro users.

6. How your data is used

Local data is used on your device to show your plans, calculate progress, display exam countdowns and streaks, apply settings, and schedule the reminders you turn on. Cloud data is used only to: create and secure your account, generate mock tests from the documents you upload, score your attempts and show weak-area analysis, manage your subscription and quota, and send you transactional emails you request (such as deletion confirmations).

7. Where your data is stored and how it is protected

Your account and study content are stored on secure servers located in India. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Some of the processors listed above (Google, RevenueCat, Brevo) may process data on servers outside India; where that happens we rely on those providers' safeguards for international transfers. Your local planning data remains in your device's protected app storage.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising beyond the AdMob mechanism described above. Your data is shared only with the service providers listed in section 4, and only to operate the features you use. The documents you upload are sent solely to our servers and to Google's AI to generate your test, and are deleted immediately afterwards.

9. Retention and deletion

• Uploaded documents are deleted from our servers immediately after your question bank is generated.
• Question banks — the questions we generate from your notes — are kept while your Pro subscription is active, plus a 30-day grace period after it ends. We email you before anything is deleted. Two exceptions, both so that your own history keeps working: a question bank is not deleted while any test you have already taken was drawn from it (otherwise your past result would still show a score but could no longer show the questions and answers behind it), and it is not deleted while an Exam Buddies room is still using it, or for 90 days after that room closes.
• Messages in an Exam Buddies room — a message stays visible in the app for 7 days. After that it no longer appears in the room, but it is not deleted at that moment: it is kept on our servers for 90 days in total and then permanently deleted. We keep it for those 90 days for one declared reason — if someone reports a message, we have to be able to look at what was actually said in order to act on it. A message that is the subject of an open report is kept until that report is resolved, even if it is older than 90 days.
• Your results (scores, and how you did chapter by chapter) are not deleted at the end of that grace period. They stay with your account, so your history is still there if you subscribe again. They are deleted when you delete your account.
• Account deletion — you can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Delete account), from our account deletion page (which runs a Cloudflare Turnstile bot check, so that nobody can script deletion requests against other people's addresses), or by emailing [email protected]. After a short confirmation and grace window, your account and study data are permanently deleted. We may retain limited, anonymised billing and cost records (with no personal identifiers) for accounting and fraud-prevention purposes.
• Messages, on account deletion — deleting your account also permanently deletes the messages you sent in Exam Buddies rooms. One narrow exception: if a message of yours is the subject of a report that is still open, your name is removed from it immediately and the text alone is kept until that report is resolved or the 90-day limit is reached, whichever comes first. This is so that deleting an account cannot be used to erase something that has just been reported.
• Guardian acknowledgement records are kept for as long as the account exists, because they are the record that the acknowledgement was given. They are permanently deleted together with the account.
• Your notification token is deleted when you sign out, when your account is deleted, and automatically once Google reports that the app has been removed from that device. The device record itself — which device your account has been used from, and when — is kept while your account exists and is deleted with it.
• Local data stays on your device until you edit it, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.
• Backups — when something is deleted, it is removed from our live systems straight away. Encrypted backups are kept on a rolling basis and are overwritten within 30 days, so a copy can persist in a backup for a short period after deletion. Backups are never used to restore an individual deleted account.

9a. Exam Buddies rooms, and what other people can see

Exam Buddies is optional. If you use it, a room is a group of up to five people taking the same test. Inside a room, and only inside it, other members can see: your username, your score and rank for each round, your chapter-by-chapter breakdown, and your answer sheet once the round's results open. There is no public or global leaderboard anywhere, and nothing about your results is visible outside the room.

Your personal AI coaching stays private to you. You can choose to share it into a room with a button, but it is never shared automatically.

Moderation. Every message can be reported, and every member can block another user or leave a room. The room's host can remove a message — everyone then sees that a message was removed, rather than it silently disappearing — and can mute or remove a member. A report is reviewed by a person; nothing is actioned automatically. Reports are held while they are open and closed within our published service level.

Content you post. You are responsible for the notes you upload and must have the right to use them. Questions generated from your notes are shown to the other members of your room; the original document you uploaded is never shared with them, and is deleted from our servers as soon as the questions are generated.

9b. Refer & Earn, and what your friend can see

Refer & Earn is optional. If you use it, we record which account referred which — that link is what the reward is calculated from — along with how the code arrived (a shared link, the Play Store, or typed in by hand), when it was applied, and the extra tests given to each side.

What the other person sees. Nothing that identifies you. Someone who invited you is shown only that a referral was made and where it has reached — waiting, confirmed, or not gone ahead. They are never shown your name, your username, your email address, what you bought, or when. You are likewise never shown who else has used the same person's code.

The install referrer. When the app is installed from a referral link, Android's Play Install Referrer lets the app read the referral code that link carried. We read it once, on first launch, and take only that code from it. It is not an advertising identifier and we do not use it to build a profile or to track you across other apps.

Deletion. When you delete your account, the extra tests you were still holding are deleted with it, and any referral that had not yet paid out is closed so nothing can pay into an account that is gone. What we keep is the accounting record of a referral that had already paid — what it cost us, and when. It holds no name, username or email address, and once your account is deleted the account numbers in it no longer point to anyone. This is the limited, anonymised billing record described in section 9.

10. Your choices and controls

• View and edit your tasks, profile, exams, and settings inside the app.
• Sign out of AI Mock Tests, or delete your account and all cloud data at any time.
• Reset or limit ad personalisation through Android device settings, or subscribe to Pro to remove ads.
• Enable or disable notifications and alarms.
• Export a backup of your planner as text through your phone’s share sheet or clipboard. The backup goes only where you choose to send it; we never receive a copy.
• Contact us to access, correct, or delete the personal data associated with your account. If you are in a region with data-protection laws (such as India's DPDP Act, or the EU/UK GDPR), you may exercise the rights those laws provide.

11. Crash and error reports

When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can find and fix the fault. A report contains the technical details of the failure — the error and where in the code it happened — together with your device model, Android version, and the app version.

It also includes your Aspirant Pro account number, if you are signed in, so that a support email can be matched to the report behind it. Your name, email address, Google profile, uploaded documents, and generated questions are never included in a crash report. Crash reporting is off in development builds and is not used for advertising or analytics of any kind.

12. Children's privacy

Exam Buddies and age. Aspirant Pro is for people aged 13 and over. If the birth year you give indicates you are under 13, Exam Buddies is not available to you at all; the rest of the app (planner, focus timer, streaks), which stays on your device, continues to work. If any member of a room is under 18, or if a room has fewer than three people in it, that room automatically switches to Safety Mode: only ready-made messages and a small set of emoji can be sent, and free typing is turned off for everyone in the room. Which member caused Safety Mode to turn on is never shown to anyone. There are no private one-to-one messages anywhere in Aspirant Pro — all conversation happens inside a room where every member can see it.

Aspirant Pro is intended for users aged 13 and over, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act treats everyone under 18 as a child: if you are under 18, you may use Aspirant Pro only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the account and for any subscription bought through it.

When the app first opens it asks for your birth year only — an age screen with no default answer and no hint about which answers unlock what. That answer stays on your device; it is not sent to us on its own.

If that birth year means you are under 18, then at the moment you sign in — the first time anything about you reaches our servers — we additionally ask you to confirm that a parent or guardian knows you use Aspirant Pro and agrees to it, and we keep a record of that confirmation (the date and time, and the birth year) against your account. We are being direct about what this record is: it is a record that the confirmation was given on the device, not verified parental consent. We do not contact, identify, or verify the parent or guardian, and we do not treat this record as proof of verifiable parental consent under the DPDP Act. We keep it so that the acknowledgement exists somewhere other than a single phone, where uninstalling the app would erase it. It is deleted permanently when the account is deleted.

Ads shown to a user whose age screen indicates they are under 18 are additionally restricted: those ad requests are marked for users under the age of consent and limited to general-audience ad content.

We do not build advertising profiles and we do not serve behavioural advertising to any user, of any age — every ad request the app makes is marked non-personalised. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal data, or you are a parent or guardian who wants their child's data removed, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

13. Permissions and device capabilities

The app may request: notification and exact-alarm permissions (for reminders you enable, and for notifications we send when work you asked for finishes); internet access (required for AI Mock Tests, subscriptions, and ads); access to the photos or files you pick (only at the moment you choose documents to upload); and the camera, opened through your phone’s own camera app only when you choose to photograph your notes (the app does not hold a camera permission, and these photos are not saved to your gallery). Reminder delivery can depend on your device settings, battery optimisation, and manufacturer restrictions.

15. International data transfers

Aspirant Pro relies on global service providers (such as Google and RevenueCat), so the limited account and AI-processing data described above may be processed on servers located outside your country, including outside India or the EEA. Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on those providers' safeguards and recognised transfer mechanisms (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect it. By using the AI features, you understand this cross-border processing is necessary to provide them.

18. Data security incidents

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data and encrypt account and upload traffic in transit. No system is ever perfectly secure. If a personal-data breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will act promptly to contain it and will notify affected users and the relevant authorities where the law requires, within the timeframes those laws set.

20. Changes to this policy and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy when the product changes or legal requirements evolve. The latest version is always published on this page with an updated date; where changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to highlight them in the app or on this page.
